Prof. Dr. Georg Locher has been Managing Director of the "New Technologies" division at SCHWENK Zement for three years, leading innovation in the family-owned building materials company.
With over 20 years in cement plant construction, he previously led R&D at Polysius (thyssenkrupp) and spent six years at VDZ, focusing on cement process research and industry representation in Brussels and Berlin.
He holds a mechanical and process engineering degree from RWTH Aachen, a doctorate in biotechnology from ETH Zurich, and conducted AI research at MIT.
For 15 years, he has been an honorary professor at RWTH Aachen and served six years as a reviewer for publicly funded research projects.
